Unit 5:
Right Tringle Trigonometry
G.GSR.6: Examine side ratios of similar triangles; use the relationship between right triangles to develop an understanding of sine and cosine to solve geometric problems and to model and explain real-life phenomena.
Learning Goal:
- I can use the definition of similarity to establish the trigonometric side ratios for each acute angle in a triangle.
- I can use the def of complementary angles to derive the cofunction identity for each trig ratio.
- I can write sine, cosine, and tangent ratios for both acute angles for any right triangle.
- I can use the cofunction identity to represent a triangle's equivalent ratio of the complement angles.
- I can use inverse trigonometric ratios to solve problems finding the missing angle measure.
- I can use a calculator to find sine, cosine, and tangent ratios and interpret these ratios.
